We’ve had a couple more stories in local news and our donations are up to over £14,000.  No cycling this weekend!

We did it!

2 punctures, 2 spare tyres, 1 spare bike, 1 idiot London driver, 1 pulled muscle, 1 case of tendonitis, 1 full day of rain, 3 near cases of hypothermia, 2 bursts of tears, 16 pairs of soaking wet gloves, socks and shoes, 38 energy bars, 50 litres of water and 100 miles later… we made it to Royal Leamington Spa on time and on a high!

Amazing work by everybody: planners, riders, support team, welcome crew, the lot.

And donations currently sitting close to £12,000.

Same time next year?

Donaaaaaaaaations!!…

We are still completely floored by the amount of money that has been donated.  Tonight, including giftaid, we passed £10,000.

Thanks so much.  Suppose we should really do the bike ride now then eh?

Snood

Left yesterday morning at 6.45 and cycled to Marylebone to get the train up to see Em and Justin.  It was bloody cold – especially on the nose!  Maybe a good idea to bring a snood and other skiing headwear?

Rain…

We’re now in range of the long term weather forecasts…

Light rain on Saturday in and around London / High Wycombe / Milton Keynes.  Cloudy but no rain on Sunday around Leamington / Banbury.  But when I checked this morning it said foggy but no rain for most of the route.  Who knows what we’re going to end up with…

A Blogging Paradox

In the early days of this site, we had plenty of time to blog but not much going on.  So we wrote copious amounts about the first training rides or even just getting a new set of tyres.

Now we’re just over a week away from the ride we’re checking the route, training, preparing kit, arranging vehicles, trying to find places to stop en-route and generally panicking.  So we haven’t got any time to post stuff.

We’re also pretty much stunned into silence by the amount of money people have donated.

Our fundraising target… is toast

First we set our target at £3000, but then we realised we were going to hit that so we raised to an ambitious £5000.

We’re now at over £5000, and over £6000 including GiftAid.  Thanks very much to all our donors, you’ve toasted our target!

The website has been through a minor revamp, the main change being that our posts have been relegated from the front page and replaced by a version of our press release for our fundraising big push!  Look out for London to Leamington stories in your local press as the unstoppable publicity machine rolls on…

Donations!

We continue to be totally overwhelmed by the amount of money that is being donated to Ovarian Cancer Action for the London to Leamington 100 bike ride.

We have received donations totalling £1350 in the past week! (Not including any GiftAid that can be claimed)

In the early days we were able to thank donors individually, but now we just can’t keep up!  We hope you know how grateful we are.
